seems the faves are either koni or billies - however ive recently been told to check out the BOGE TURBO GAS suspension kits as a good / cheaper replacement for the koni. Can anyone comment on this please:

No, they want 550 odd for the complete set.

I phoned Tim at Quattrosport and he promised to phone me back last wednesday but hasn't done so.

Bit annoyed really, i'll phone around some more as this really needs to be done sharpish, although my Lexus Mech mate who is going to help do the job is going on hols so it will have to wait a couple of weeks anyway.

Ok, could you drop me a PM of where you source them from (eventually) as im also chasing around places... still tempted by the US option and wait for shipping.

Im gonna have a word later on with a friend who brings over a lot of bits from the States to see if he can help out with the shipping and cut down the cost

oooooo i hadnt thought of that..... friend of mine is a VW Specialist.... think i might need to phone up as him

Will see what my other mate can do as well, as he has a race beetle and most of the parts he gets from the US, so he may be able to help also, if i turn up anything good i'll let you know

                              hi everyone:
has anyone ever tried the cheaper suspension setups eg. G MAX do a complete kit for about 250 quid all in (thats struts and lowering springs) - i'm sure there are many other brands that do a similar lowish price - i imagine that suspension systems dont exactly = rocket science... so what am i paying for with a H+r / koni setup @ 550squids

Please excuse if this is a daft question but just trying to decide the best route for a replacement setup.

                              regards

I would think that the more expensive, Koni, Bilstein, H&R stuff has a much better quality of ride and longer life.... after all, if GMAX was as good as the others then nobody would use the expensive ones.

As with all things you get what you pay for and the S2 is a very big and heavy car, so suspension is gonna take a beating everytime its on the move.

I personally wouldnt go near the cheaper stuff, theres obviously good reasoning for that stuff being half the price
