My short shift does not fit :(

    Well

I have a short shift kit from 034motorsport that should fit my 1992 3B LHD, but it does not.

In the picture you can see the two square mounting holes, on my kit they are oval (like an american football) and the distance between the holes are wider, which mean I cant get the stupid shift fitted.

So my questions is, can I just drill the holes bigger or use a powertool to reshape the hole or is that a bad idea? Besides that the kit looks like the one vagparts and 034motorsport sells.

        Jonas,

Did you not get the email reply?

Just enlarge the area that fouls the bolts, then use a larger washer to secure the shifter.

          Hi Corey,

Yeah just jumped then gun, since I was at the garage and wanted a fast reply

Anyways it is fitted now, I used my Dremmel to grind some metal away. But it does feel really nice.
