i was lookin in to this and had mixed reports some peolpe said that the short shift kit chewed gearboxs because it simply could not keep up with the quicker gear change any body else btdt

not had any problem with myn. well worth it nearlly halfed the gear lever travel when i put one on my car. i got my one from vag parts, but was a bit more than coreys i think can't remember the exact price.

Short shifters are awesome - I have had mine in the past Audi's I have owned. Get one and enjoy. Never heard of any gearbox probs.

Will the vag parts or 034 one fit an aby?

pretty sure the vag parts one fits the aby 6 speeds but you have to fit the gear lock to it as i don't think the 6 speed has a gear lock in the gearbox where as the 5 speed does don't know about the 034 one but would of thought so

034 one looks the same as the vag parts one. so put your order in and you'll wish you did it ages ago

I have the short shift fitted to my aby but I will be removing it in the next few weeks since it makes the gearbox feel even more notchy

I was thinking about this a while ago - but was put off by reports on here of problems after a few thousand miles.
