  • Flywheel timing pin install

Does anybody know what height the flywheel pin should be?

Bentley manual is slightly different, i assume that ridge is where the extra weight on the 7A flywheel comes from?

While i'm at it, this was the 3B flywheel as i got it. Not the best finish and the timing pin on the back was broken off.

After quick skim, center bearing replaced, and all studs/pins replaced with new ones. I also used a bit of locktight stud fixer as i've heard of a few members here have lost a pin.

The problem rear timing pin, the old one was removed by drilling through the flywheel from the other side. I dont think it will be an issue as its all being sent off to be balanced anyway. Just need to know how high it should sit

        Cheers, Mark.

              That’s the top two

This one on the rear is much smaller, the new pin is about 20mm in length. I guess its going to stick out 10mm but would rather be sure.

              Cheers, Mark.

Oh right Ted - The pins for spark angle are 36mm...

The timing point pin is supposed to driven in until flush with flywheel. As per 13-22 in the 3B Mechanics manual.

Let me guess 13-22 is the same pic as above?

Nope - the Bentley 7A pic (13-491) is actually more meaningful than the 3B one (13-392)... Those are the inset pic numbers I'm quoting there. 13-492 appears on page 13-22 in the 3B book.

11.36mm if you are going to use this fllywheel on a ABY or AAN engine. and the position is betveen 38 and 39 tooth. Since I was doing that last week I had taken away some unneaded iron from it cc2.5kg. I'll try to put the photo here.

On the clutch side you dont need any sensor pins if it will be fited to a AAN or ABY. The mesurements that i used were taken from original dualmass flywheel. As you can see this was originaly the NG flywheel. The clutch surface had to be done too because the ng clutch disc is a bit smaller than AAN disc.
