If you have no fluid in it, all that will happen is you will depress the master cylinder against its spring. If there is fluid there but it needs bleeding the slave cylinder will only partially actuate or you will get more travel before it actuates.
Cheers,
Steve.

Maybe the master cyl is gone and you are sucking air into the system. Have you had a look under the dash to see if its leaking? Still with the easybleed you should get some fluid coming through, the nipple must be blocked or the slave cyl full of crud..
is possible that the piston in the master cylinder to remain stuck in the down position, or the pedal is a little down and the hole from the cylinder were the fluid comes in from the reservoir to be closed by the gasket. I had this problem.
Hope this helps!
Eugen
Nothing leaking under the dashboard.
Sounds to me like the nipple is blocked for some reason.
We'll try pumping fluid in from the nipple side and see what happens...

We're gonna try to take the slave cylinder off, then we'll be able to take off the nipple with reasonable confidence that we'll be able to get it back on.
Thanks.

Just so you know...Getting the slave back on is a PITA. I still have the scars! If you are going to the trouble of taking the slave off, it might be worth fitting a new one, as you wont want to do the job again.
Quattro Corner can sort you out a genuine one for about £40
Ok. Slave cylinder is out. Dad had to disconnect a bit of gear linkage to get into it, but I guess that goes back no problem.
Plan is to flush out the slave supply pipes, try to verify that the slave cylinder is ok, then put it back together to bleed the whole system.
Slave was loose, and only needed about 1 turn of the securing bolt to get it out! I take it this is not as it should be?
