    Clutch isn't right

So my clutch is now bled, but the pedal still seems to be misbehaving.

It will only come back as far as the first spring takes it. It still slips a little here.
Once the car has heated up it manages to come out all the way.

I'd've thought that maybe the springs were set up wrongly, but that wouldn't account for the change once warmed up.

Like I said, the system has been bled... Any ideas what the problem could be?

just asked a bloke i used to work mith and he had a problem with one of these ages ago a red s2 coupe they had it in for gearbox clutch etc and the master cylinder was fhooioked so they got a new on from euro car parts.. then put it all back together and couldnt get it bleed properly took about a week to find out the master cylinder from euro car parts amazingly had a slightly smaller rod coming out the end went and brought a genuine one from audi put that on and hey bingo the clutch bled as it should first time around and worked perfectly.. so have you changed the master cylinder..

Bent rod on the master cylinder is almost definate reason.

Have we not already talked about the master cylinder? Or not?

Check out your Master cylinder. Could well be the kiddy.

        Good luck

        Cheers,

        Steve.

Indeed we have already talked about the master cylinder... But I haven't replaced it.
We eventually managed to bleed the system, but the master cylinder wasn't causing the bleeding problems.
Like I said before, the Master Cylinder rod doesn't look bent, but maybe I just need to change it and see what happens.

Will VAG parts or Quattro Corner give me the genuine part?

          Thanks,

am i late to the party with the reverse bleed thats required for the master cylinder, sure i read that somewhere....come to think of it it might even have been on the original thread
Does sound odd though...hope u get it sorted asap.

I've had my clutch bled again. This time by a professional.
The pressure bleed showed no leaks.

But once again, after a couple of short journeys the pedal is not returning properly.
Now it doesn't have enough travel to let me engage a gear.

Looks like i'll be replacing the master cylinder and piping.
