Interesting. The thing you have to ask yourself is how many times has your corner exit been ruined by front wheelspin.
Is this an upgrade to the open diffs or an upgrade to torsens? Might be worth trying the standard torsen first and then upgrade if you find traction a problem.
From memory the S2 torsen can load up to 75% but this can do 88%. Interesting...

Well, there is so much happening involving my car right now just trying to find out as much as possible.
Will probably be off the road until the new year, but hope to return with a vengence.
Most importantly, the excitement has returned
I've thought about the stasis centre diff, but my theory is that using the V8 torsen out back will make much more use of the stock centre torsen. An 88/12 split is not going to make an enormous difference over a 75/25 split with stock open diffs front and rear IMHO
Torque split is a bit different to limited slip, that's what you should really be thinking. I think this will make a difference, open diffs at each end are not the issue.

It's not better than sex, but it runs it a close second.
Well i guessed that an extra 13% variability in torque distribution probably wouldn't make a hugely noticeable difference. You want the drive where the most grip is, in reality i think its rarely a front to rear grip difference but between the inside and outside wheels on each axle.
Audiman did the V8 diff conversion. Had some fun as loads of oversteer especially in the wet, but ended up blowing it at Inters last year - mind you he was running 550+bhp at the time

A car with assisted drive to the front performs better than a RWD car, even if it is only the most marginal percentage to the front ....but on a tarmac surface you really don't need as much as 25% to the front. Technically speaking all cars drive all four wheels, but most do so by connecting the front and rear with the tarmac underneath them.
13%, incidentally, is more than an eighth - I'd call that a fairly significant change!

Saw on AW that there was a DIY on the stock diff to turn it into a 4:1 TBR Torsen. Anyone tried it? On Torsen.com, the SAE university special site, it is explained how but only for the university special diff - can the same procedure be used on the center diff from a 01E quattro?
so does the 01E and the 01A share the same centre torsen?
worth a go with a spare diff if it only means swapping some shims, and not a huge job to swap diffs
