3B gearbox rebuild

I have borrowed SteveH's spare gearbox whilist i remove and strip down my old box. after speaking to my local dealer who knew nothing about the car nevermind the gearbox (!), i decided to email erWin in Germany as i couldnt find the documentson the site. They have respondedsaying that they think a repair manual exists, but they dont now where. Still waiting for the reply.

Anyways, has anyone stripped down a 5 speed box from an S2, if so do they have pictures/a manual?????

I have the entire repair manual for the five and six speed .
About 250 pages .
Converting it to pdf , slowly ...
One possible snag , it's in dutch .

Yes , it sure does .
VW407 , VW412 etc etc etc .
There's no general list , but the tools are mentioned
on each job .

Anyone have tech drawings / dimensions of these tools ?

I have the hundreds of 01E pages in English and its a nightmare with special tools on just about every page. Definitely not for the DIY repair shop - seek trusted specialists only. The 01A is just as complex an animal - less one cog !

I'm trying to get hold of the ELSA audi data disks. I've got the majority of VW discs. Most of S2 stuff on ELSA these days (apart from a few bits mainly the current flow diagrams )

Not had much joy in the last couple of weeks but I will try and have a look to see if they have the gearbox manual on the ELSA machine at work. If so I will print a copy for you.

Ive stripped it!!! Can get at the bearings without the need of special tools, these are only needed to remove the gears and synchro hubs from the shafts. Hers some pics of it in bits
