It'll cost a fortune new, IIRC, a rear diff is £5000! Better to get a secondhand one and hope it's good or get it rebuilt by a specialist.

Don't think there is a haldex on any S2, only on TT and A3 IIRC

            Haldex isn't for the S2 / RS2

If you want a new torsen diff for the gearbox buy an uprated one for $1550 or $550 if you send you old diff

This is 6 speed only however, if you have a 5 speed your better off buying a 2nd hand gearbox.

Would the Stasis central diff be hard to fit? Don't you have to take the gearbox apart?

Not for the S2 gearbox the torsen is in a seperate housing, for the later S4 boxes you have to take apart the gearbox as it isn't seperate.

If you want more info search for stasis as there are a few threads covering it.

                        OK oK...

ALWAYS i was thinking that our rear diff was Haldex..... i believe that i´ve read it in somewhere SURE¡¡¡

of course i know that the central diff it´s Torsen

this is not my problem....the problem it´s from my spanish friend ,but aniway i have a complete engine and trasnmission from a 3b for spare (now the engine not, because i´´ve destroyed the cylinder head

                        thanks for the explanations

Haldex on the rear would mean all the power to ONE side till it looses traction, haldex kicks in and the power is redistributed, at least that's what it does on a S3, no power to the rear till the front slips.

Open rear differential, manually lockable via switch on centre console located next to handbrake
