V8 torsen rear diff in s2 housing

Tell me about it, I just drove to Tesco in the BM and it's a right handful in the greasy damp conditions. What's wrong with diff lock and cutting the blue/white wire for the 2 occasions a month when that's appropriate behaviour? Mine doesn't want to go sideways unless it's on WOT in 1st. Not sure that's right but I do have grippy tyres.Cheers'en, AndyC

Two things...
The BottoMWiper only drives one axle and if you stick a big lairy LSD in it then its gonna be scenery out of the side windows on a wet day... And the very real danger of finding yourself parked in a frikkin hedge if you aren't careful.
My hope with Torsen ATB at rear will reduce the cars natural tendency for understeer by allowing the inside rear wheel to do a bit more work on the corners. If it turns into a manic drift machine then I'm out. Thats why I want a donor diff casing to try this on... Will be keeping the lockabel S2 diff for safe keeping.Paul Nugent

The V8 lump into a CQ has been done before - oh its so passe - LOL... WabTheKing I think it was in the yookay and at least one stateside runner - can't recall who.
I think I remember some freaky occurence that the V8 attaches into the CQ chassis on its normal 5-cyl engine mounts... Thats no accident !Paul Nugent

Something just occured to me...
If I fit the Torsen internals into Pete's (Acidburn) diff enclosure - is there a danger it will spin me round (round baby, right round, like a record baby... round round round round) ?
More worryingly, will it turn me into a cross-dressing omnisexual with a penchant for dodgy plastic surgery ?
Where is the favicon for tumbleweed or a tolling bell ?
Sorry if this comedy doesn't extend beyond the UK & IRL, but it cracked me up.....

No - I'd bet the original V8 diff casing is more like that of the S6 but I'm not sure.
The S2 Coupe diff casing is quite short in length, whereas its a huge long thing on S2 Avant & Sedan... And the S6 I think on the C4 platform which shares lots of heritage with the V8.Paul Nugent

I definitely preferred the Avant with the torsen. It wasn't lairy and it did make the car more neutral when pressing on. If you're intent on doing standing starts though, it's best to load up the drivetrain first and then sidestep the clutch...the torsen in my car wasn't the same after the first event. My nerves got the better of me and I didn't take up the slack before dumping the clutch
It never got any worse after I put my brains in and took up the slack on subsequent events... and to be honest the starts just got even more vicious after I put in the monster clutch I got from Aelred and even then it was fine. There was just a perceptable clunk on taking up drive
I even changed the diffmount to the 034 CNC'd mount, but the clunk was still there. There was a little more axial play on the driveshafts than I was keen on if I remember rightly though...
I've got another one that's sat on the bench at the moment and hopefully I can persuade it to go into the Boxster gearbox that's attached to the Imps V8. If not, it can go in the Coupe

the audi 100( 44chassi) and audi 200(44 chassi) andi 220 v8( D11 chassi) audi 100 after 1992, and audi s4 and s6 does have the look alike casing in the rear diff, and i think the audi v8 89-93 rear diff will fit right in the car.... and audi v8 does ONLY have the 4,111 ratio......!!!!!
the 4,111 are the same as audi 80/ 90/s2 / audi 100 and many more does have( only cron and pinjong will fit in)
i think this have been discussed befor on this great forum
