Does anyone knows if there will be any problems with the torsen or anything else if I remove one front axle and make my s2 RWD for a lil' bit of playing?
I`ve seen THIS VIDEO and I want to make some burns and donuts..
Anyone?
Many thanks,
Costan.
I personally wouldn't do it, who knows what you will upset, plus i don't think the wheel bearing will last on the axle that you remove, seem to remember something somewhere that cars shouldn't be driven with the axle removed for this very reason.
you will have weld the centre diff, which destroys it, or have a adaptor made up replace the torsen c-diff to connect the output to the rear drive only
it looks useless anything less than drifting and like way subarus end up when people do it and audis have even more weight over front axle
just stick with using the diff lock, unless you want enter a drifting contest....
im guessing you know you will need keep old outer joints inplace stops wheels falling off
Use early Quattro 016 running gear... very simple to make it into RWD..... and its a solid system, with option to completely lock rear diff....
I've done it, but not in an audi

problem running with the driveshafts removed, just remember to leave the cv joint in there with the bolt, to keep it stable, and not brake the bearing.
If you wanted to do a RWD S2 properly then you're looking at modifying the front end and moving the engine back to take advantage of not having a front diff. You'd be well advised to get a 2wd gearbox on there too, both lighter and less complex compared to the S2's torsen and front diff setup. If you put it to RWD as stock then the weight distribution would cause issuses with traction, you'd have to do the old Ford Capri trick of a bag or two of cement in the boot

best way to do it would be mid mount a 20vt with a fwd gearbox drivng the rear wheels - the set-ups perfect for that on paper, suprised noones done it.
