I spoke to Jeremy yesterday and he said about the pins, something about it taking 3 hours to remove the ones from your clutch?
What are the pins for, did you find out?

Pins from flywheel...The one that mattered was the timing pin that sits on the rear of flywheel for sensor but the two at the front(face) didnt matter so they just got gound flush

      Cheers

For reference to anyone re power ratings on a standard LUK clutch my car has recorded on a gtech 330ft/lbs on a 1700lbs car incl myself as driver. Once I added 2 kids and a wife. The clutch gave up the ghost instantly on part throttle.

At no point was I ever able to do a quarter mile style launch even with only myself in the car anything over 3000rpm launching in first would cause it to slip badly. This was using a refaced flywheel and doing a proper 500 mile bedding in.

Now back to clutches as I'm in the market for one aswell now anyone had experience of a techniclutch. They appear cheap enough. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-S2-2-2-TU...3A1|240%3A1318

I know Sachs is good, but right now I couldn't warrant spending the £450-500, as I'm doing rods and headgasket at the same time along with rings and big ends whilst the head is off and engine out for the clutch.

Do not get a techniclutch as they are the same as LUK pish!!...........I wasted £120 on one and lasted 2miles on my 3B..save your pennies and get a Kestrel remanufacture job as best for buck in my view

cool thought it would be the case one of those too cheap to be true things. Will give kestrel a call in the near foreseeable future. Only issue I assume they need a core which I don't have as I want it to be a 1-2 day in out job.

I treat my OE VAG LUK 3B clutch like a crack whore and it's never got upset yet Five 0-60 runs in a row in sub 5.5s each, 330+ftlbs, 300bhp, stock ABY coupe so 1700kg with me in it. Still, VAG might be better quality than GSF...

Still, if the engine is coming out then I'd fit something a bit stronger so you'll not have to go through the faff of removing it all in the future.

                i treated my car like a b*tch
the clutch was fine on the old continental rock hard compound as they spun
                played 11s for a while!
then with better tyres and fatter wheels the same launch technique smoked the clutch on the first attempt
recon my car is around 1200kg with the fat man piloting it ( me!)
It d go better if i lost some weight!
Looking forward to the new clutch so much I ve just bid on an mgb for my lad (sure be nice with a t16 turbo in it)
