RS2 Engine to 3B Gearbox? Will it go?

Does anyone knows whether RS2 engine will bolt straight onto 3B gearbox? I'm looking to change my s2 with rs2 engine.Or will ABY gearbox bolt onto Rs2 engine

Answer is yes, but you'll need to fit the 3B flywheel and clutch to the ABY / ADU engine first, or I don't see any reason you cannot use the spacer from an ABY - a few of us have them spare.

The 6-speed box is a good upgrade though as it is stronger.

Need for the spacer is linked to the flywheel you use, not the gearbox. Use a 3b flywheel & clutch = no spacer. Use an ABY standard dual mass flywheel = use spacer. That's my understanding.

Johne = correct Dont' forget you need the appropriate block dowels and bolts depending on which flywheel you use also.

This may be stating the obvious, but is it fair to say you've taken into account the different loom and ECU?

Rose,i will be replacing 3B ECU and wiring loom with RS2 'S.I can understand changing the ECU,but why change the loom as well?

The rs2 uses coil on plug, and the 3b uses a distributor, that is the main reason for the change.

why would you use a RS2 engine in the first place? If your 3B is healthy you could upgrade to RS2 spec and be done with it.

                        Rs2 conversion

,cos i'm after 400+hp power and a 3b will not give me that kind of power without alot of modification. With RS2 ADU Engine, all you need is a couple of chips and 400hp is almost achieve.Bigger turbo like gt3071 and 450hp is almost in sight

in both cases you should change the rods if you want to enjoy the power for a while. Still don't get it, ADU are not that cheap either.

Simple 3b = dizzy ABY = coil pack, no spark hop issues and a lot more tuning potential and bonus of having the ADU cams,

All high power 3B cars have had to go this route at some point.
