I can try and see if we can get a sachs GB or something. Preferably the 3b / 7a flywheel kind. with sprung sinter 4-puck, what do you think? best option up to 700-800 nm?2004 9-5 aero

It seems that im the only one here that his spec 3+ has not yet slipped or got damaged!
after all the documentations though im not sure i will be trying spec again.
probably will be going to the good old sachs sinter...
I also found an old email i had from Javad, saying that the spec3+ should be able to handle 500ft/lbs crank (around 400ft/lbs whp torgue). So 600Nm is about 440ft/lbs, which is why probably it is still active in my case.
It is interesting though why so many other spec 3+ have not.Could it have been a bad batch?
@prosty: do you think sachs sinter with dual mass flywheel will be much to harsh as a daily driver?
Im not going to be going more than 600Nm but i do want to set my mind at ease with the clutch...Last edited by A80Avant; 20 June 2009, 09:17.Comment

I had the SM sinter with 4-puck and it was not hard at all to drive. The DM flywheel is much smoother so I'm very confident you will have a pretty smooth ride!
You need the 724 plate and another 4-puck sinter for the DM flywheel , the 724 can handle more power than the 707 but the flywheel is the stop for power imo.2004 9-5 aero

A80Avant: i shouldnt run my car withg DM and these powers.. when you change clutch, change from DM at the same time ( only my own opinion though, but boring to break something, because the gearbox is not so funny to take down as you know)
One thing i've learned we are way behind the Scandinavians!Comment

yes i know. i should do that at some point.
My mjor problem is that if i change the DM flywheel, shouldnt the whole be balanced again?
If so, then noone can do that in Greece.I would have to arrange to have that done while being in the UK.Maybe arrange something with Aerled in the future or something.Comment

well.. both no and yes, just balance the flywheel instead to make it as good as possible. Those numbers you are putting out isn't 100% needed of a balanced engine (but always good to have) I've gone with 600hp and no balancing at all. Works perfectly2004 9-5 aero

That would be very interesting. Even with the organic pressure plate for people that would not be aiming for such bit torque figures.

search for spec 3+ and count the amount of failures and issues with pedal to the floor
