Andy, as always someone asks a simple question and some people tend to exaggerate as if you are going to make a super drag car...
For the spec you are after and the way you are going to run the car i think both southbend clutches should do their job if the announced Nm is true. I would go for stg4 for extra safety (which is what i got anyway). I believe it is better in driveability than 4puck sachs, and if it lives to it's reputation, it may be at the same torque levels. So better all around results.
With either one of the 2 choises, you will be well below the Nm limit with the rs2 turbo for these clutches even if you change to stronger rods.Comment

my standard original is holding together still. i got a few of newtons trundle wheels. not that i advocate the use of one to that level. ive been lucky.
my mate pulled an ap racing clutch out of a subaru this week. was like a ball of wire wool. cae out of the bellhousing gaps like bits of fluff.Comment

Well I picked up my little A4 1.8t with the the South Bend Clutch and flywheel fitted.
The car has supposedly been dynoed at 270ish bhp and 350ish lbft at Awesome GTi and it certainly feels abbout that using my highly accurate *** dyno. Not Evo quick, but certainly no slug.
The clutch was great. Quite a heavy pedal on it. If you wern't used to an uprated cluch it would certainly catch you out as the bite is quite harsh. The seller managed to catapult the car out of the garage as he hadn't driven it in a while. I drive a lot of cars with uprated clutches so it didn't bother me and although heavey was easy to hold on the bite point and feed in and out whist in traffic.
I gave the car a proper kicking on the way back to the workshop as I was trying to find all its faults and niggles. It took the kicking in its stride and the clutch didn't even wince or groan once. If I had treated my old Evo Exeddy twin plate or a RB33 HKS triple in the same way it would have gone for an early bath.
Even when hot, the clutch didn't get grabby or change the way it felt, It just maintained the same level of bite and feel.
The South Bend get my vote. and I'll be throwing one in my 90 S2 when the time comes.
Paul.

"Audi Coupe Quattro / 90 20v Southbend Clutch Kit" Do these kits fit a 3B(ABY/ADU/AAN)/singlemass/5 or 6 speed configuration
This is how I understand it but I'm not 100% sure..

I can also get the exact matching clutch kit for pretty much anything. The ABY kit has a bit taller pressure plate than a 7A PP (to accommodate the size of the tranny spacer). contact me with your needs.Comment

What happend to these prices?!!!Looks good, with current prices from EFI express
Stage 1 375 ft/lbs $325=£210
Stage 2 400 ft/lbs $425=£274
Stage 3 500ft/lbs $475=£307
postage at $83 so £54
Sachs performance (520+Nm ( 383b/ft)) is 678 euro=£595 + postage
Looks like the southbend stuff could be a great option as long as taxes don't shaft you.
Southbend stage 3 "endurance" now works out at £510 + Import tax + postage
Stage 4 "extreme street" is now £570 + Import tax + postage
With import tax at around 20% Sach clutch kits now work out cheaper!Comment
