    Hi, you have some option.

    1. Conversion of existing 01e to modified gear ratio, dog gears, etc - starting from 2300-5000E . - there is sqs racing doing that modification, and advanced automotion , with ppg gearsat, or something.

    2. Complet new gearbox, - Vs motor, and some company from latvia ( including sequential) , the last gearbox beeing used by carbon destroyer ( it is just a suposition). price from 6000e-15.000e

I like the Dog Box from Vs motor if i had 14 ish thousend euro's spare i would have one or maybe i would get one of the ones a forum member from the Uk had made up i think iirc about £7500

But before spending that i would like to atleast try it or atleast go in a car with one fitted.

Repo will confirm what they used on Tommi's 1000hp audi
£7500 is about two thirds of my engine budget... think i might just try one or two "normal" boxes first and see how it goes, only just starting my build so a long way off worrying about it yet!! But i like to plan ahead

I'm not sure but if the ratio's are the same as jogi's was then unfortunately no as by the time the boost on a big turbo kicks in you've got to change gear, he will tell you all about that.

Did consider one but probably not gonna go that route, will most likely add some extra baffles to prevent any surging/running dry.

You wont be doing that with a standard oil pump

I did wonder if that would be my weak point..... Looks like i might have to dry sump it after all or maybe just not rev the nuts off it!! ;-)

You're not going to rev to 9K for long with stock oil pump.

Normal 01e gearbox from S6/RS2/biturbo S4/RS4) would do just fine for You (someone else can give You the transmission code). All You need is a solid center diff, front diff and a GOOD clutch.

There are two dog engagement gearsets available to 01E, the other from VS Motor, and the other from PAR Engineering. I have heard neither of them ever fail, and there are at least three low nine sec cars running on PAR kit. I think almighty Norwegians and Swedes with their VS Motor kits run high nines.

PAR Engineering is appr one third of the cost of VS Motor kit.

Funny still, only Zausajev has driven 9,1 with PAR gearbox (at least I was told he has PAR). Next three cars (HK Racing, Eklund and Paavola) drove 9,2sec with stock 01E (not 100% sure about HKracing). Second quickest dogring user is Pavelson with ex-paavola coupe, doing 9,3 sec.

01E has problematic ratio from 1st to second. First of all, it is not easy to build HIGH hp engine with wide enough range, especially if You spin wheels even a bit on launch. Second, the ratio difference is so big, You really need a special clutch for the synchros to survive.

But yea, building wide enough range 700hp engine is basic stuff, and like said, will require no special transmission. Unfortunately with 700hp You hit perhaps low tens.

Yep wouldn't sit above 8000rpm continuously on a stock pump due to cavitation. The dry sumped 1.8T we did that is running in on 750hp was £15K in parts and machining stroked designed for a 10k redline. On a budget I reckon you can achieve the same on an I5 for considerably less as for starters you can use the stock crank.

That car has 660 hp, 1500kg (full street setup AFAIK), and did 10.22, with 1.7 60ft, with a better 60ft, it will be under 10 .

But for 2300E, i think the best choice is the modified custom dog gears, for the 1, and second gear, from Advanced ....

There is some one on this forum, from latvia i think developing a full sequential transmision 01e , but i dont know if if finished yet.

Has any one ever looked at modifying a gear box from a subaru? I seen you can pick up sequential boxes from the N1's with all the gizmos for about 5-6K

That engine sounds different then normal. Does it have a slipping clutch or a semi-automatic gearbox or something?
