          SO what vehicles use the 3b 5 speed?

          and what used a 3b 6 speed?

            3b 5speed - early S2 coupes and avants? not sure if the 3b ever had 6speed (maybe mistaken) as i think the 6 speed was introduced with the revised ABY engine in 1993/4?.

                  ABY (thats the engine code) is the later (post 1993/94) Audi S2 Coupe and Avant. not sure about other applications.

                  What engine are you looking for a fly wheel for??

                    so the 3b was pre 93 5 speed, ABY was 93-96 with 6 speed, and the ADU is the RS2 6 speed is that right?

                      not sure of the 3b - ABY change over but it was about 93-94. As for the RS2 engine code im not sure of. probably right there.

                        but yes,
                        3b = 5 speed
                        ABY = 6 speed

                          so, is the 3b flywheel the same as the ABY flywheel?

                              No, they're completely different. Have a search for 'single mass' or 'dual mass' flywheel

                              3B is lighter and is solid metal
                              7A is slightly heavier and is very similar to 3B
                              ABY / ADU is dual mass so has various springs and parts to it, this is smoother but is heavier and can wear out.

                              First pic looks like 3B/7A, second pic, I'm not sure about, could be dual mass...

                              What car are you fitting this to? If you're fitting to a 6 speed car then there's some mods that need to be made. There's a sticky in the transmission section on this.

                              Clutch is not compatible ABY/ADU to 7A/3B. Stock ABY clutch can take more torque than stock 3B...

                              It's all here if you have a look about
