how much HK with 5 Speed Gearbox ?

Hi.

I was wondering if anyone know approximately how much engine HP an original 5 speed gearbox from S2 can handle in everyday driving ?

I have around 400hk in the car now and will only do street driving, will the box hold together ?

5 spd 01E will hold as much as the 6 speed, as long as you don`t miss a shift 600++++hp will work just fine

It will handle 400hk no problem. What kills it are hard launches and too much torque in 3. gear.

jonus did have 800hp in the 5tr tranny.. in the old 016...

280 hk can break one, if your street driving includes clutch sidestep launches, and 2nd/3rd gear clutch kicks and drifts.

if you use the gearbox friendly; i think you have a gearbox; not a wrecked one... ok with the power... att youtube.. the general lee audi...
