  • No speedometer!!??!!

Guys there is no speedometer in the car
I'm sure that it is not sensor, wiring or the Speedo itself! Problem is in the gearbox or to be more specific in the differential !!! Could it be the 012 409 187 C (speedometer drive gear) part??? What basically this sensor reads??

    Does anyone experienced same problem??
    Please advice!

Is it just the speedo not working? Does the odometer work?

Could be a flaky gauge face if its just the speedo thats not working.

Mine does this sometimes - good dunt on the dash with a clenched fist. Good as new!

On reflection, probably not a permanent solution though.

In that case it is probably a flakey gauge face. It is easy enough to take out and check for.

Just the speedo it's not working. I test it the sensor on another car, plus i took the sensor off pluged into the bush then with multimeter I bonded the bush and guess what the arrow of speedo is moving. So it's not electrical problem it seems that it's a mechanical issue in the diff itself.

The sensor in the box how it's working? It's reading something from 012 409 187 C which is in the diff but what is it on magnetic princilple or?

Maybe there is something else that I could test or check?
