  • Upgraded gear/tranny mounts

After seeing a few members comments regarding the track/race spec gearbox mounts, regarding being to harsh and causing vibration thro the cabin i have made these ones.
They are very similar to the hard spec ones i make, but have a poly top hat bush pressed into the delrin cap.
The idea is to make it slighty softer and reduce any vibration.
The first 2 are with Brian Tonks and these are going to Will @VRS Northampton.
Both these guys are going to independently test them, and let me know if they are better or worse that the solid ones??
The last 2 photos show the poly version with the hard version

Error404 that was a well timed post... saved me searching for the thread.

My S2 is the comfy driving car so did not want to upgrade to all solid mounts as when I have been in cars with the solid ones fitted there is a definite rumble and vibration through the car, particularly with high end revs.

The spec on my suspension is all standard with the exception of a set of Bilsteins so it was easy to tell a before and after....

                  And the result is........

There is a very minor increase in vibration, but no noticeable extra noise. No where near as bad as full solid versions. You can tell that it has also made the gear change more positive

so all round its big thumbs up and +1 to recommend

                          Nice one, Kev.

I take it the poly bush doesn't go all the way through the mount, it's just on the top.

The poly bush is more of a top hat, its goes thro the delrin, and just touches the ally base, the delrin outer will keep it rigid, well thats the idea
