is there anyone in here who use that gear box on their s2 ?

    will it fit?

I believe some people use it on S2/RS2's without problems.

oki so it fits nicely on the car and fine with the gear ratio

and an S4 2.7 gearbox has the code DSY and only DSY?

have found a gear box with the code GER and the seller says that it is from a 2.7 s4 tt
            is he wrong?

You better get some more info. I asked my friend Kate about "GER" as a transmission code and she couldn't find anything. AFAIK, the 2.7tt B5 S4 6 spd transmission was either the DSY with the trans oil cooler or the EDU that the North American B5 S4 2.7tts came with (no trans oil coolers). The C5 A6 2.7tt 6 spd transmissions should also work. You need to confirm that the final ring and pinion are 37 teeth and 9 teeth respectively to yield the necessary 4.11 to 1 ratio.

The 1999 C5 2.7TT used the gearbox DQT whitch is the same as TDI gearbox (0.56 6th gear ratio), so if you are not intrested in low cruising rpm and long 4-6 gear ratios then check that first.

Works fine on 2.2T, 1-3 ratios are the same as 5speed UrS4 box, so good enough for chipped car on a dragstrip.

sorry to jump in ! can any one tell me which 6 speed o1e gearbox has the 4.4 final drive ,rather than the normal 4.1. i was told some of the allroad quattros had 4.4 but i need exact gearbox code so that i can buy such a box .

Looks like the FRE has a 4.375 to 1 final drive at least according to this:

                    http://www.elektro.com/~audi/01E/

Remember that the transmission final drive and the rear differential have to have the EXACT same drive ratio for things to work and not go BOOM.

Do you know guys, how good/strong the 5 speed ur-s4 are? I am talking about the first ur-s4 boxes... I don't know It's codes. Gear ratios should be similar like 01A ARV boxes from S2 3b engines

It is the weakest one, with narrow 1. gear and no flex input axle..

Weakier than 5 speed 01A boxes?

                            No..

01E is much stronger than 01A AFAIK. But the early urS4 trans. is weakest of the 01E's, it depend how you drive it.

                            Quote KRB-trading:
I have never seen a 01E box break in a clean flat out, regardless engine power
