i have never had an issue with Clutchnet. met the guys, been to their "factory" even a few years ago. good products i got from them.

i now run a Clutchmasters twin disc, FX-725, with steel FW and Ceramic Bronze discs. 740 AWHP, 568 tq, 40psi (373 kpa) 4cyl. had the regular discs in it, now switched to new Sintered Iron discs. no street driving, full drag car.

    FWIW.

New original clutch cost same or more then one from clutchnet and when engine is out I think is good chance it.
If you are going to use NOS then you should have written that in the FIRST post.
Depends on the size of the shot of course, but the torque can EASILY increase by 200-300nm during the shot.

You will need a stage 4 or stage 5 clutch if you want to use NOS.
Again, it's torque that breaks things.

With stock head and 7A cams you won't break 650nm and you won't break 600hp either.
        I don't think so:

        and the las one:

And the fuel you were using / compression ratio?

Also, the second graph is utterly horrible.
How do you drive this exactly? 600nm for less than 1000 rpm?

Last I checked the difference between gears was not 1000 RPM at redline with Audi gearbox.

The first graph is much better, but still the question about the setup remains, even without talking about dyno accuracy, and that dynos read high and low.
With meth injection, E85 or race gas you can easily make over 600hp.

Your graphs pretty much prove what I was saying though.
530hp on first graph, and on second graph, the turbo isn't a HX40, or there is something wrong with the car.
So why exactly does it matter?

            fuel - V-Power Racing

            On 1st graph - HX35
            on 2nd graph HX50
on second graph we have trigger error and fueling problems - fuel pressure fall from 6 bar to 4,5 bar over 6400rpm and we have misfires over 6500rpm (on vems).
Now we put catcams 275/258, and EMU engine menagement from poland (on 60-2 wasted spark), turbo spool 500rpm lower, and we have redline on 7500

So neither graph is about HX40.

The stock head doesn't flow enough up top, to make really more than 600nm at the rpm the HX40 spools up at with a normal hotside.
Of course with a smaller turbo you can easily make much more. The question here is total flow through the head.
You can have the same example with a 34mm restrictor in front of the turbo. You can have 750nm of torque, but you will not break 350-360hp.

So, as I said - you won't break 650nm/600hp on stock head/7A cams with a HX40 on pump fuel.
Why do you take my sentence out of context then and say "I don't think so"? Nothing you posted disproves what I said, it only proves my point.

I am sorry, but did you read anything of what I said?

                  Were you running a HX40?
Were you running a stock head with 7A cams?

                      Come back with what?

The fact that you made more torque than 600nm on an engine that resembles nothing like the OP's, and the only common factor was that you ran pump fuel?

                      Am I wrong?
I stated something about the concrete setup the OP is running. I stated those things together, in context, about the concrete setup.
You take ONE of the three things stated TOGETHER and comment on one of them.

What am I supposed to say?

You might as well say that the C6 RS6 makes more than 600nm torque on pump fuel randomly, this is true, and I am not arguing with it, but I don't see how it is relevant?

                          Stamping my feet?

Wishful thinking. I am just mildly baffled at the reading comprehension of some people.

I guess I should just provide less of my accumulated experience on forums, which has come to me after mapping closer to a 100 of these cars.

So yeah, buy a triple plate tilton clutch for your HX40 on pump gas, what do I know anyway.

Haha, in fact I had that in mind some time back.

                                Ps.

We should keep in mind the tonns of work Dmitri has done for these old swet cars we like to be in to. Motronic specialists isn't exactly easy to found these days. Sure Dmitri can be a little pushy sometimes but usually after when some other have been belligerent. We all should remember good manners and cut the BS and talk about the cars and the tuning...
