I want to put a CGR transmission on a 3B engine. Must I do some mods with the clutch, or the 3B will work?

The 3B clutch works with the CGR, you can keep the 3B single mass flywheel and clutch, just leave out the spacer plate (if you have it) and just fit the CGR.
It works fine.

Does that mean that the CGR (aby 6-trin tranny right?) is a straight fit on the 3b coupe?Originally posted by Mark HalliganThe 3B clutch works with the CGR, you can keep the 3B single mass flywheel and clutch, just leave out the spacer plate (if you have it) and just fit the CGR.

No I dont think so, I think that the subframe is different (not sure).
The original question was if the six speed fits to a 3B engine and clutch and as far as I know it does. I have done something different, but still the same, ABY fitted with 3B flywheel and clutch to six speed.
Also worth knowing that the linkage is different for CGR, I believe.

Hi,
-As Mark said: the subframe is different. the lefthand support is lower on a 3B subframe. This can be sorted with a spacer, or a 6-speed subframe.
-The shift linkage is different on a 6-speed, and also the shift console/
-On my car the front 3B driveshafts fit to the 6-speed
-The 6-speed box is a couple cm longer then the 5-speed. So the center driveshaft wont fit initially, but you can compress the shaft towards the diff a cm or 2 then it will fit. Or else you can buy an ABY center driveshaft.
-the 1 of the 2 electrical connectors on the gearbox doesn't fit, the box has a 2 pin connector and the 3b loom uses a 3 pin connector.
Hope this helps.

Yepp! Very important infos. Can you tell me the spacer diameter? What the two connectors for?Originally posted by JefferHi,

I think the connectors are for rpm and diff lock.

The spacer is about 2 / 3 cm high and 20 mm diameter, with the hole in it for the gearbox mount bolt. It's fairly easy to make. It's just a spacer to level the gearbox.Originally posted by 20VoltCan you tell me the spacer diameter?

I thought that the 3 pin plug was speedo drive and the two pin one was for the reverse light switch??sigpic
