  • shaft to long?

Does this driveshaft look too long? This is the inner CV with the wheel dropped right down.

I'm trying to mix and match shafts on typ85 gearbox with s2 running gear.

So hopefully I'll get away with it when its lowered back to the wheels. Nothing else came close and I think this is even borderline to long.

All I can advise with drive shaft lengths with CV joints is this:
With the vehicle resting on its wheels, you should be able to "shuffle" the driveshaft back and forth at least 10mm in order for the CV joints to take up suspension movement with bump and droop. If there is no movement you have an problem. Remove the springs so that you are looking at shock absorber travel only. IF, at full bump and droop you can still "shuffle" your shaft you should be alright.
