    Rear end noise

So, in my quest to work through cars issues here and there, it makes a row when driving from the rear especially at speed, and weight shifts from side to side round corners it makes a kind of shish, shish type noise... would this be diff or shafts or bearings , or all .? I've changed diff oil and have bearings to do. - guess working through from easier tasks to more difficult to try to sort it out. Any one throw any light on it ..? Cheers

Prop centre bearing can cause a racket if its knackered or if the prop is not aligned properly

There is some axial movement in the rubber flex of the joint, but radially it should be solid. Prop misalignment can cause problems too - have you removed or disturbed the prop recently?

Nope not touched prop at all....

I originally thought the noise was the exhaust - over the driveshaft part - as it had rub marks where t has contacted driveshaft but with new exhaust on and well clear of shaft the noise is still there...

Shish shish noise could be loose wheel arch liner?

Wheel bearings usually whine or drone and the noise will change in intensity as you steer left and right, often a bad left hand one will go quiet as you turn left and the weight comes off it (but not always, they can be misleading..)

Actually if a wheel bearing is really bad and the housings are rubbing together that would make a shish shish noise!

yeh its difficult to suss where its coming from when driving tbh, but deff not liner, new pads discs all round but did it before these were changed, sure its bearings or shafts or diff...theres not much else at the back ! ....guess process of elimination ....
