    The main reason clutches fail is that the flywheel is not refaced at the same time as fitting a new one. Really is essential for the new clutch to last and hold lots of torque. It's very rare to hear that the DM needs replacing on ABYs/ADUs, it's not a service item like on modern VAG cars. Unless there is something wrong with it, get it refaced and it will go again.

      I can get the flywheel refaced, good advice.

      After looking a bit harder on the SRE website I can see that they do in fact have a clutch for ABY/ADU... I have read posts on here by PRJ that stock clutch disc and SRE pressure plate is a sufficient upgrade. So to save a little money, can I buy a standard Sachs clutch disc on it's own anywhere?

      (Audi Tradition have clutch disc in stock but they are listed as 'used'.)

        I have a new sachs racing pressure plate for an aby that I don't need. It was ment to be for a 3b so won't fit my setup if your interested....
