Just got the engine back and the pilot bearing (ABY) that I bought doesn't fit the 7A flywheel that I have. I'll find out when I take the engine out but I'd swear that the 3B flywheel shares the same bearing as the ABY I did research it and obviously got it wrong. Is it an issue at all? I'll get a 7A one.

As I say, I could swear blind that the 3B and ABY are the same but this is a 7A and originally had the sealed ballrace bearing fitted rather than the ABY style bearing.
The hole is a 1.5x larger approx. on the 7A one I have, so I'll have to source the correct bearing. I don't see it being an issue, just seems odd!
May need to use the parts list created 8 years ago when I first did the conversion to make sure I get the correct dowels etc.Cheers'en, AndyC

Bestcarparts could be worth a try, that's where I got my OE Sachs 3B one from.
Edit, just realised your talking about the spigot as opposed to the release bearing, durr.
I could be interested in the one you have surplus to requirements if you can confirm that it's going to fit a 3B? May as well change that as well whilst I'm in there, which hopefully should be soon... finally.1989 B3 2.0 3A 80 quattro... Budget 1.8T Project.
