Sachs SRE pressure plate failure

Well found out today that my pressure plate is fooked and it has only done 8000 miles.Not sure of specifics yet but what can cause this to happen?

Seen one damaged before through hard launches, the fingers were all bent.

So it's the clutch? Not the gearbox?

never done any hard launches in the car tbh-not my style.
There are not many alternatives in the clutch department so i am going to order another one
Your southbend has a sachs pp doesn't it Alex?

Yes mate, SRE plate with the Southbend Extreme kits I believe. I've not heard of any other SRE pressure plate failures.
At least its not a problem with your gearbox then

Not sure Alex it still could be a case of a combined failure yet.We will have to see mate.Remember to give me a shout when you work out those figures for the bits i asked.Car is not going anywhere for a while

Southbend kit I looked at used a sachs 707 pressure plate same as the sachs SRE clutch.

Would be very strange if the pressure plate failed without it being linked to something else failing. Input shaft bearing collapsed?

That is a good point. The input shaft was bent on the car we saw the damaged pressure plate. We weren't sure if the clutched caused the damage or vice versa

Did you used 3b 707 ? When I have done sm convertion with 7a flywheel I used 7a 707 pp and I didn't remove any spacer on gearbox. It was on urs4 but is same stuff for any and adu isn't it?
