    shifter selektor, 01a vs 01e

I have swapped my 01a for a 01e in my 93 coupe, it was originaly a 01a in the coupe.

I have the 01e working ok, but not excellent i have fitted shfter linkage from rs2 of course, but i am thinking about the selector inside the car, my is very worn out and sousing a new one i was wondering if there are any different types or if any one will fit.

The shifter base you are looking for is different on an 01E vs 01A. The reverse lockout is different as well as the bump stops. They are 4 & 5 in this picture.

The B3 ball housing can be made to work, but will not work as well.

They can have my car when they pry my cold dead fingers from the steering wheel.

If you look at the bottom side of the mounting the reverse indent is a separate piece of metal spot welded on in four points. Just drill out the four spot welds then bolt the plate onto another assembly. I did exactly that to convert a 5speed unit to 6 speed.
