Its the 7A's which have smaller diameter flanges (100mm) all S2's are the same 108mm. Dunno about shorter driveshafts on the 6 speed though.

I'm pretty sure the ABY and 3B are different lengths, that is if the ABY's are all 6 speed and the 3B's are all 5 Speeds. I was told this when searching for the halfshafts for my project.

Up to R all 3b and ABY S2 have the same halfshafts.

So Wab, you are saying that you are replacing your 3B half shafts with ABY ones, yes?

Wills car was a 7a originally, are you still using your original driveshafts will?
Are 7a bearing housings the same size as S2's, eg driveshaft spline diameter. Will aby shafts definately fit your 7a hubs?

No they are not. 7A has 100mm inner CV joints and 3B has 108mm.

Word is, use the back part of the 3b shaft and the front part from an avant.

ok, think sal is sortin me some aby shafts,

hub splines are the same, shorter shafts and 108mm flange

prop is being shorten and balanced to suit, choppin 25mm out on the gear box end

i did the engine/gearbox ;the only thing that i needed to change was a spacer on one of the gearboxmouths. and one part S2 3b and one shaft RS2 for the drivetrain.
also the gearlinkage from aby.
