        So you say that it gets less user friendly. In what way? When would I notice it?

          I have one.
          The Fidanza is a nice piece at a nice price, got mine at jegs, took some time back order though.

            I have heard that the Fidanza (an all aluminium fly's) not so strong are and easily break? Is this right?

                I think it fits the RS2 but without the Spacer that is stock between the gearbox and the engine!

                    I don`t want to be rude, but i make alluminium flywheels and it`s now up and running on Jeffers beast. I`ve calculated it and it will hold up to a 1000nm of torque. (and still its got a safety factor in that)

                    I`m going to make a few within the next couple of weeks and the total assambly of the alluminium flywheel weights around 4,5 kg.

                    I can deliver it complete as a complete bolt on kit with longer bolts and tdc pin and starting-ring gear

                    I`ll post some pictures of the new version jeffer also has got on his car.

                    I can make a few for the s2 forum members for a reasonable price.

                    PM me if youre interessted.

                      I have seen your stuff looks great. but it’s the cost that gets me. How much could you get one to the US for?

                      @Billman from what I understand most of the crankshafts are the same in 5pot Audi motors if this is the case then there is no reason it wouldn't fit an RS2.

                      My next question is can pressure plates be swapped between AAN, ADU, 3b, 7A. Or would a 7A flywheel require a 7A pressure plate?

                        the shipping cost wil be around € 30,- or so PM maybe we can work something out.

                        AAN ABY ADY have got the dual mass "thing" and those have got another pressure plate then the 3B version and the 7A wich are the same (correct me if i`m wrong) but the dual mass versions are deeper inside the flywheel.

                        But you can just use a 3B or 7A pressure plate on a 3B or 7a flywheel.

                          @Dutch RS2

                          Not to poke you in the eye but what do you mean by "designed for 1000Nm"? Is that static load or the calculated dynamic load?

                            ok, no you don`t poke me at all. I`m using cosmosworks to analyse the whole thing and can post the report over here if you like? so you can see the results of the study yourself.

                            Cheers, Cees

                              Someone else will be able to explain this better. The reason manufactures make flywheels soo heavy is to hold the momentum of the engine a little longer for shifting. Just as a light weight flywheel will allow acceleration to be faster it will also allow deceleration to be faster (revs will fall quicker). After a little bit of getting used to a light flywheel it seems to be a little more fun to shift.

                                The engine tends not to switch off every time you push the clutch a little too late in the trafic and you are able to drive even with RPM lower than idle , without the engine to switch off!

                                @Dutch
                                How much does your flywheel cost? Do you have steel for the friction area? Any Steel points on the middle of it, so it dont change dimensions if it gets very hot, from many heavy starts etc? This is a common problem on the Aluminium Flywheels!
