  • Tyre recommendation for 8.5x17 et13 wheels

Guys I am shopping for tyres for my 91cq that will end up on 17''x8.5'' et13 bbs rs200 rims. Now the tyre shop is telling me that it will not fit on my Coupe and it may need to be stretched! I don't want to compromise performance but I also do not want the tyres tearing off of my rims. Any experience with this size rims and offset of Coupe? Recommended tyres size? Side by pic of wheels

245/40/17 or 225/45/17 should fit on those rims

As for Tyres, Toyo, Goodyear Eagle F1's or Continental Contact sports 2

Yes, I have 245/40/17's on my 8 x 17" wheels so you will be fine. No rubbing with an ET 37 (BBS Rims too )

        Cheers,

          What about the ET13 bit?
          That's 20mm too far "out"

Abt C5 kit should cover them

The alloy wheel mounting face can be milled by 20mm to make them ET33

                    no
I doubt there is 20mm of metal under the head of the wheel bolt, unless BBS make wheels to use +20mm wheel bolts. Normally you can take a couple of mm off the inner face, but not 20mm.

Back wheels could fit with maybe a 'tweek' of the arches but fronts with that ofset may foul the inner arch at the front on lock.

This is bad news I did not expect.. Bry is right, need some C5 fenders:mischeif: I am going to look into schimming off a few mm if possible. Rubbing is also dependant on my ride height correct?
