  • What ET rims fits ?

Does rim fit that uses 225/45-17 tires with ET50 if you have alittle bigger brakes in front ? I have EVO calipers ,a 300mm disc i think. Its the ET that makes me unsure.
    Best regards

ET 50 would be perfect for an RS2 but way too high for an S2 and would require spacers.

A general guide to S2 Off-sets... Based on an 8" wide rim and stock springs.

16" Rim... 25 - 40. Though really you want to be in the mid 30's
    17" Rim.., 30- 35.
    18" Rim... 32-35.
    19" Don't bother.

Tyre's also vary in dimension a great deal from brand to brand and when running track day tyres such as Toyo T1R's you want to consider going for a width one size down from a regular tyre as they tend to be wider than their road counter parts for a given size.

But if i use spacers on the ET 50 rim to make it fit with brakes , would it set the tire/rim outside the fender ?

What width are your rims mate? As long as their not over 8" and the car hasn't been lowered you'll be fine.

7.5" is in my opinion the perfect width for an S2, though 8" are also just fine... That said Porsche went for 7" rims on the RS2, though they used a bizarre size tyre for the rim width that are no longer available so most owners use a 225/45/17, though I've driven an RS2 fitted with modern rubber the original size and it handled great.

                  I have 18x8.5 et 45 with 215/35 all round.

The fronts are on 10mm spacers - that gives about 5 mm to the steering arm on my BCs.
The rears are on 20mm spacers - plenty of space behind.

I would not want to go any lower on offsets on this setup as you'll then start getting too close to the arches.

                  Hope that helps! : )

But 7.5 inch wide rims that are 17 inch ,, would ET 50 work ,, it seems like different opinions

Best bet is to go onto www.willtheyfit.com, enter your current wheel specs and the new ones. That will calculate the differences for you in both directions. You can then look at your car to see how much room you have between the inner edge of the wheels and strut and the outer edge of the wheel and the arch.
