    What pressures do people run?
What's the standard pressure recommended for the 16"?

Do people change pressures when they go up in size, 17", 18" etc?

Any major effects of changing pressures on car handling/braking/ride/tyre wear that people can vouch for?

I'm running 32 psi all round on 17s.

                Very different to the Mondeo 4x4, I run 31 or 32 on 16" 205/50/16

Morris Minor is 24psi 155/80/14, much more and it wanders at high speed!

What would be considered 'high speeds'?

weeeeellll round a roundabout about 18MPH is excessive!

My old mm 56MPH top speed ( no 0-60 time!)
                      Standard minor 75MPH
My tuned minor 1100 98MPH ( according to GPS) and it was still doing 37MPH!

                      sad really....

On an Amsterdam tip, my colleague asked the boss if he preferred grass or astroturf, he replied "grass, cos' the astroturf was difficult to light"!

Beetie, You'll have to ask Chris about the splinters in his crotch!

34 psi on std 205/55/16 for everyday use
I drop pressure to about 28-30 for track days. Bit more grip. Plus as the tyre gets hotter the pressure increases. Pressure = Volume x Temp ( i think or i look damn thick now) LOL

36psi on 235/40R18. On trackday have run 40psi to reduce the sidewall flexing on F1 GSD3's and it made a noticable difference. I checked pressures after each session and they didn't rise too much. Was only doing about 6 laps at a time though due to high oil temps (lean running, didn't know that at the time!). My car seems a bit sharper on the road with 40psi but I think that is a bit too high for everyday use. The slighly higher pressures would help fuel economy too, I guess.
