You should keep in mind you should have the same rolling radius on all 4 corners with a quattro
I am not going to irreversibly modify my car...
But seeing all the hate i have been getting over something so simple, I have decided to run 8.5 on all 4 corners

        :
Calm down, we are only offering advise , which is what you asked for in the first place
Even if you want to run 12s anything is possible, but you may need to irreversibly change the car to do it i.e. an aggressive arch pull, - which is what I and others cautioned. Remember its not a boggo B5 or a Jetta its a super rare car you have and people will always be against these kind of McModifications.

Don't make a decision on account of what other people say, at the end of the day its your car you can do what you want to it

I would like to thank everyone for their advice and suggestions, I will NO LONGER be rolling the fenders.....
I have decided to take a more performance oriented route. I'm back to the drawing board, Any suggestions on a set of period correct wheels no smaller that 17x8 are very much appreciated.

There are 17x8 OE wheels on the S6 and A6 if you want Audi. I've always liked Azev A wheels for that period look

Rob run 9" wide on the rear with a bit of stretch, I've met sparky a few years ago good lad and stupidly fast motors. He brought one of his S4's back over with him while he was sorting/living over here for a bit then went back to Florida. Your car looks awesome fella there's a lot of haters on here when it comes to stretch and things of that sort. Keep us informed wit what you end up doing. Good luck with it.
Just some finishing touches to do now

I appreciate the support man!, But I made up i mind I'm not gonna do something ridiculous .. Sparky is one hell of a nice guy and is insane when it comes to cars and engines, I remember when he flew over "yellow" his B5 S4 saloon to England. When i bought the the S2 he got pretty pissed bc he always wanted one

Yeah he came to a few of our meets over here, think my S2 was pretty standard then. Have a look at Gompa's thread he's putting 9.5x18" ET15 on a avant but he's modding the arches so it has a B5 RS4 kind of look. It's going to look amazing when he's finished it

                    IYHO.

Not haters, just advice givers. Born in '61 so BTDT, now older and wiser, most of the time. Made all my imature style mistakes ages ago.

                    8 x 17" with 225/45/17 is the perfect compromise between looks / comfort / and performance for a B4.

8 x 16" is too small in diameter, has the comfort, but not the performance, and not a great looker compared to 18" rims.

8 x 18" doesn't have the comfort of the 17", but looks better.

I run mk 1 S8s because I value the "look" slightly more than the "comfort".

This wheel and tyre size combination of 8 x 17" will allow you to change rims as often as you wish with no fitment issues and will also allow you to lower the car on coilovers, or airbags if handling is not a top priority.

My inital reason for chipping in to your thread was that you asked for feedback, and also an S2 saloon is a rare and desirable car, even more so in silver. The cars that your friends have are nice, but more plentiful. Just looking to save you from yourself.

You'll have more fun with uprated engine,( that's still streetable, so not more than 550bhp imho, plus you want to be able to drive it on longer journeys without it costing you a fortune in petrol, otherwise it'll be a garage queen just for Sundays, no fun in that ), brakes, and suspension, wheels and seats all done, rather than massive wheels and pulled out arches. It will be out of proportion.

I have 17" x 8.5" all round on my coupe with 225/45R17's fitted. Can tramline a bit on crap roads but pretty good compromise otherwise
