    S2 with RS2 turbo.. woo!

    Hi all,

I bought DarrenM's old S2 on the weekend, he did have to sort out an alternator problem soon after he bought it from him but its all running sweet now and reason for sale was that he's got a VXR coming on Monday (traitor), hes already got it booked in to be supercharged etc etc! Anyway, I have been looking for an S2 with this level of power and such condition for a while now and I believe its come to a good home and I intend to look after it for a long time.. the rs2 injectors and intercooler definitely sounds like something id be interested in doing in the future but too be honest its scarily fast already!

    Cheers,
    Chris

              Hi Chris,

so what exactly has been done to the the car, you say s2 with rs2 turbo? is it just the RS2 turbo bolted to an otherwise standard coupe/avant, or does it have RS2 Map, turbo, manifold, turbo back exhaust etc? is it a complete RS2 conversion apart from the intercooler and injectors? without the injectors isnt it running very lean?

what sort of power is it putting down?

You'd need to check Darrenm's posts but AFAIK it's got RS2 turbo on a stock ABY with a chip by Paul N. Not sure on the EM but it's got a 3" turbo back that I think was done by Quattr0nics, some monoblocks, HnRs and some S8 Avus alloys.

Oh, i didnt think it was "safe" running an aby with an rs2 turbo without doing the whole lot, injectors, esecially

It's a great motor, I had a look at it on Saturday, was very tempted. But the exhaust (loudness), the MOT and the colour put me off. It is a very fast tidy car and John seemed like a genuine guy so hopefully the MOT is nothing to worry about. I'm on the look out for an S2 with an RS2 conversion now as I was very impressed with this one. I think the extra power justifies the cost and I'd rather get one which has had the work done.

                    So good luck with it.

It's been specially mapped for S2 stuff with RS2 turbo by Paul N (S2central.net). This is covered in Darren's posts, the S2 EM and injectors are OK for up to 330bhp so at 310bhp Darren was running the car safe until he could fully sort it with IC & injectors. It was a half-way-house.

With the right parts this could see upwards of 360bhp. Nice place to start!

I'd have thought that this car and mine are now very similar in power, mines still a stock S2 tho

Good luck finding one of them up for sale, they don't grow on tree's i'm afraid and DarrenM's car is one of the finest Coupe's you'll find on the market for what has been done to it as it has been done properly

It is a mighty machine, I've given it a clean up today so might post some first pics up later.

I'm going on holiday next week so funds are short after this purchase, but the injectors and intercooler are in the pipeline. I've already had the injectors offered to me! So in terms of the intercooler, would I need the rs2 one or aftermarket? Apart from a further re-map to suit these, what else would be involved as I need to do abit of further research?

                            Cheers

Get the Wagner RS2 Evo IC kit, it comes with a bracket to attach to a stock S2 XM.
