    Hello from wales :)

Hey guys, im rob from barry, south wales (on weekends).

im 21 and im currently in the raf at raf cosford.

previous cars since passing test are a punto mk1 75sx, punto gt1 and currently a clio mk4 1.6 16v vvt 111 dynamique which was kind of a step down in power from the gt. miss the gt loads

interested in selling up the clio and potentially getting my hands on an s2 as the insurance is not too bad for some reason.

    anyway just saying hello

      hey,

yeah ive read all about the costs of running them haha. not to much of an issue with fuel (which i know theyre not amazing on) as i only really drive on weekends to get to and from home but just want something decent to do it in.

ill openly admit that when it comes to the mechanical side of things i would send it to the garage as i do live literally a mile away from an audi/vw specialist who ive used for other cars as my knowledge is pretty limited and theres is limitless.

ive seen that there are quite a few other young s2 owners on here too tho lol

          Hi Rob,

I grew up in Dinas Powys, so I know Barry pretty well. If you do get hold of an S2, I'd highly recommend NG motors in Splott to do any work on it. They're very reliable and know loads about anything VAG. They've worked on my '86CQ, my 'rado VR6 (and my wife's) and now my S2 - always do a great job!

          Finally, welcome, and goo hunting!

i find S2 insurance the cheapest for a sporty type car i have had.

                my scirocco was 880 tpft
                my corrado G60 was 800tpft
my S2 was 500 fully comp.

Yeah I've found S2 insurance pretty reasonable, cheaper than my VR6 and Merc were.

Hey guys, cheers for the replys!

I did the quote for an s2 on 'compare the market' and think it was either through elephant or admiral (same company i believe) and it came out to about £1000 fully comp which is about the same as my clio if not cheaper. although that was about two months ago, now its £1300 ish fully comp even on coupe quattro 20v non turbo.

I used to find companys like adrian flux were pretty good insurance wise too.
