I've kind of already introduced myself in the 'Wanted' forum, now I've just spotted this special 'Introductions' area. So, My name's Charlie, my moniker comes from my online poker playing days, I'm 37, live in between Hereford and Brecon, am best mates with Kit (K Simmonds on here) and am now in the market for a tidy all fixed up RS2. Wish me luck...

Their both really nice example's, your a seriously lucky feker to have those two. I think his plan is to polish one and keep it totally original and the other is going be seeing quite a significant power increase, I'm sure he's got some plans put it that way.
I enjoyed driving N728 OHG back very much, was interesting to compare back to back with my Coupe, the Avant does handle better and is much, much more planted feeling at high speed, but my Coupe feels more agile and chackable. Power delivery wise I really like both set ups even though their very different given that the hardware is the same. Mine has a savage bottom end whereas one needs to rev the RS2 harder to get the same acceleration and it feels more laggy, the RS2 is hardly short of torque though!. That said if I was to have an RS2 (which is quite likely in the next year) I'd leave it stock as I've got my Coupe to play with, I like the way Porsche set the boost profile to feel slightly old school.

I remember my first ever experience of being in a turbo car, I was about 18 and was being given a lift in an Escort RS Turbo, we overtook a car and I felt this surge of power that put me into the back of my seat. I've wanted a petrol turbo ever since! And that's kind of how the RS2 feels (only in a slightly different league), nothing special until about 3500 rpm then it's like a jet that could drive up a vertical road.
My intention now is to take my new RS2 and get some serious power going much lower down the rev range, then I'll feel I have the best of both worlds, old school turbo lag with the 'N' reg which I love but also something that gets going from the off, much like Kit's taking off from way down the bottom of the range. It's frustrating occasionally having to trundle along at 3000 rpm waiting for that opportune moment to strike and destroy some road fodder.
I'm new to the world of the Audi 80 so opinions welcome. Kit's already suggested I beef up the con-rods to take low down torque and bigger turbos just mean more turbo lag. Also I may speak to Danny at DNA and see what he has to say...
Oh and I need a standard jack and wheel nut wrench that's mysteriously missing from my latest purchase...

First get a boost gauge on it, make sure it's running as it should be, no boost leaks (do a proper boost leak test), holes in DV, blocked PCV pipes and leaky PCV valves, good fuel supply, new pump and filter etc. Then get some decent software, you'll be amazed what an RS2 setup can do on decent chips.
There are some billet wheel options for RS2 turbos available from Iroz motor sports in the USA, I think they top out at around 420 BHP but spool up very quickly so can be mapped for aggressive bottom end power/torque delivery. Also fit straight on and look stock, no need to change exhaust manifold, air-box etc.
Then Alberts turbo looks very interesting and could give the sort of results your after.
Then there's also K26/7 options or Holest make some turbos that PRJ seems to rate highly.
Speaking to DNA would be a good idea.
Need to get them out and take some better photo's as well mate as their both in lovely condition, a few people must have done a double take yesterday as we made our way back along then M4.
