    New Member from Boston

    Hi Everyone
Just joined so will introduce myself

I am Colin and come from Boston in Lincolnshire

I am an old fart and have had a lot of cars during my driving life including several that you might like including a WRC Ford Focus, a Metro 6R4, Ultima Ect.

I had 2 UR Quattros as a company car in the distance past and for years ran new Range Rovers.

Sadly my wife of 41 years passed away in April this year and since my best mate and cars have been a life saver.

    I have several cars.

My Daily these days is a VW T5 van turned into a day van for birdwatching. Its highly modified, coil overs, wheels, spoilers Ect and i love it. I recently drove it to my brothers in Zurich and on the way back I did from Zurich to Dunkirk without a single stop.

I have a really nice Ford Mustang 390 GT/A fast back. Yes its a real one and possibly one of the best in the UK.

    I also have a really nice 1931 Ford Model A Pickup with a 5.7 v8 in

I also have a nice 1988 Audi UR Quattro

I have a few more but one of interest is a 1986 B2 Quattro Coupe that I recently purchased ready to start a SWB Sport project to use at Trackdays and on the road.

I have most of the bits ready to start, I want to put a V8 4.2 out of a S6/S8 in it so will start a project threat soon to ask you loads of questions.

    Well thats about it

    All the Best

    Colin

I am not a lover of the American stuff normally but how can you not adore that Mustang? Lovely.

Welcome and good luck with the new project.

          Thanks,

Its strange but you cant park it without people coming over to look and take photos and when you are on the road loads of people give it the thumbs up.

              Thanks,

I think without the cars and my best mate who has loads of cars, i may well have topped myself by now, there was some very dark days for a while.
Its so sad as i even miss her moaning and my god I am so crap at housework.
I found a sort of stick with a box on which when you plug it in it sucks all the bits up, and thats helped, but the box that I throw my dirty clothes in and as if by magic are cleaned and hung up in the wardrobe seems to have stopped working. Even worse I cant even find a plug on it.
The local takeaway seem happy and have even had to put on more staff.

I have now moved her registration [KAY 863] onto the Mustang so she will always be with me.

I even now have some of my cars in my house, and she would have gone crackers if i had done that before.

                Welcome to the Nuthouse!!

Seriously tho, this is the most intelligent and articulate group of car nuts that youre ever likely to come across (some of them even have a sense of humour), and though I can't even come close to understanding how you felt after losing your wife, I'm sure will find a great bunch of people here who will keep you amused from time to time when you're feeling low.

Interesting collection of stuff you have there, Buddy; but most of all- I'd love to know what you did for a living to warrant 2 Ur's paid for by the company! Sales Manager for Microsoft maybe?
Gene Hunt had one, apparently, but in reality I don't think the Met could afford to run one

Its easy, own the company and make the car policy

My uncle had an S2 as a company car back in 95, fully spec'd ABY, this is where I first drove on and got hooked on them. He was the boss of the comany too, it does have it's perks

Welcome! another Bostonian here! not many of us on this side of the pond visit this site. OK, a bunch of us do, but most members here get to enjoy the blessings of living in the land of euro domestic market cars

edit: damnit! wrong Boston.... I got excited...

IMHO and perhaps of many other here, you should put an i5 engine in your SWB quattro.
Also if you want to make a perfect SWB Sport Quattro replica you will need another car for the A pillars.

                          Welcome Birder

We had quattros as company cars back in the 80s (albeit damaged repairables!) I've still got mine, 84 WR, Alpine White. The shell is undergoing work at the mo!
