    Hello Audi nuts :)

Hey Audi folks. Im new here and just made a user so please dont knock me over

Im an owner of an Audi S2 coupe '93 ABY which I have been trouble finding lowering springs for. I recently bought a set of shockarbsorbers from bilstein and thought I would find the springs on the internet just as easy, but it turned out to be a nightmare

Hopefully some guys here knows where to achieve some or get along with the problem

    Best regards Allan.

    Hi Allan,

Welcome to the forum! It is the law here you have to post picture of your car, so don't break the rules
Springs are hard to find new for our cars now. There are places who can make you custom springs, or you can wait for a set of used H&Rs to come up for sale (I don't think you can buy them new anymore). Another option is sell the Bilsteins and look at KW V1 coilovers which are very good for the price

Alright, ill load up some pictures as soon as I get my cameras SD Card in the computer

The bilstein shockarbsorbers are brand new and did cost me 800$, but I hear what you say about the KW's. I was wandering if the H&R lowering springs for the avant will fit the coupé I have. I know the kerb weight only differs around 30-40kgs, but im not sure if they will fit. I just see alot of lowering springs for the avant for sale and none for the coupé.

Im able to buy the original springs from Audi, but then ill get the aweful 4WD look on the car. Therefor I talked with a company in Denmark that could heaten up or slice a coil on the springs to make them shorter, but im not sure if that will last in the long run. Any suggestions there?

Front springs off an avant will fit, the rears won't

I use bilstiens with standard springs and it's great, I lowered mine once and put the standard springs back on within a month, just wasn't right

Unless you go for coil-overs I'd stick with stock springs on a road car, I tried the H&R's on my 3B and didn't get on with them at all.

My RS2 had heat or over compression modified OE springs and wasn't great though not as harsh as the Coupe H&R's, I've put that back to stock and it's lovely, well it will be when I replace a couple of things.

            Oh yeah,.

Alright. I just buy the original ones then and go from there. Then later on maybe use some coil overs if it sucks too much ☺
How much did you guys lower yours? I only thought about 30-40mm.

By the way. Why does the springs on the rear not fit? Is it the load or different diameter of the spring or?? ☺

                  Diameter

                  Totally different rear suspension setup.

I had a similar experience with H&R springs and koni shocks. Much better with stock springs on the road and I snapped a spring on lowering springs as UK roads are so bad these days

I had the Koni springs and adjustable shocks on mine and it was perfect for the road. Due to the age of our cars I doubt they make them anymore.

                          Good decision ,

Here's my lightened 1350kg 3B after a dam good thrashing, an ABY should sit a little lower being a fair bit more weighty.
