I will keep hold of it as a friend of mine thinks he can repair it. Got a lead on another genuine one so might use that as a stop gap

finally got 5 mins to update the thread,
Got another front bumper that one of the group had lying about and it's in better condition than mine, so off to the body shop it went and I'll pick it up in a couple of weeks ready to fit.
The vibration damper has been a nightmare, tried Audi tradition , couldn't get registered but finally managed it, part no longer available, tried Audi Heritage, same answer, think I finally found one via Brian Tonks and placed the order for a fluid damper, should be here in 2 to 3 weeks all being well (thanks Brian).
can't wait to get the car on the road even though it's still tatty!.
Finally sold the Coupe I and he is now being looked after by a guy from North Wales.....brought an A4 Tdi Cabriolet for the Summer but needs a few bits doing on the body and a rattly tappet on bank 1 (it's the 2.5 V6), driver's seat bolster to sort and it's good to go, full leather and electric roof. looking forward to crusing with the roof down!
That's about it but will do another update after the new year!
