    Should be fine then

Just take a home landline number from EVERY caller who wants to view the car

// has to be there and then though and not "I will call back with it"!!//

and you should be fine with the concept 600

        Bad day for RS2's

As car alarms go theives with a bit of brains can go get alarm standard layouts to find which wires to cut and rip out the siren. Its all a bit complicated but basically from what I've been told by the guy who did my alarm if they want your car they will have it wether they drive it away or put it on the back of a trailer.
The important thing about when your car gets nicked is time cus, if they're after your parts then from the time it was stolen it could be in boxes in a matter of hours. Or worse on fire.
So act quick basically and don't expect much from the police as they only care if someone was hurt or involoved, not property a.k.a your S2.

would explain more but I'm at work...

Shirish I am gutted for you, those people are f*cking ****ers. Nothing would please me more than to see them flail hammered alive into small pieces ...but it still won't bring the RS2 back, winding back in time to when it was all ok would please me more. Would still flail hammer the b*stards that did this though.

Yes it was, for one week I think and 2 weeks online.

All the best with your sale - just be as careful as you can be, maybe a Disklok too?

I just hope they injured themselves when they crashed - 'cunning stunts' springs to mind.....

Oh BTW, in terms of getting into the car, i found the passenger side door lock on my driveway, with the surrounding trim in pieces.

I don't think there's anyway of protecting this area really as its integral to the door - apart from a Veedub style handle removed/smoothed over look - not great on a four door car.

When mine was advertised, I had a few calls from only genuine people and I only advertised online! I think the "interweb" is beyond them.........

I think we can safely say do not advertise in the trader paper!

I am thinking I will go and trade mine in for a couple of grand less sooner or later......

Dirty w4nkers Don't see the point in that Hope the insurance claim all goes through quick and painless Shirish.

As an aside, when I have advertised my cars, I always use my work number and mobile phone numbers. When I arrange any viewings with potential buyers , I always use an excuse that I am busy and that it will have to be at work, or a near relative were the car will be......

I feel your pain! What a waste of a fab motor; I hope you get a decent payout from the insurers and they don't try to stiff you.

Pretty sure the scum weren't local so I can take some solace from that.

Just remembered I am with the same broker/underwriter as you, so I will be interested to see the outcome. They sounded like a decent bunch when I was talking to them anyway. I can't remember how I got recommended to them now........

                              Cheers Simon,

not much to say really, but better to have sampled (and ragged) the RS, than not having driven one at all!

Pics of the calipers please! BigRed me up!

Word to the wise... never broadcast your security equipment details anywhere. Most alarms can be beaten quite easily if you know what you are facing.
