So the other half of the engine bay was prepped, and etched where needed.



Then it had a full coat of high build primer.


After it was dry it was wet flatted as it's silver it's the worst colour to show imperfections...
Then it was painted in Crystal silver and several coats of laquer.
.

Once this was dry the rebuild process began....

A spare 5 speed gearbox was painted and fitted.



I have fitted the vacuum servo, and the ABS unit and made all the fresh brake pipes to suit.



And then tidied all the wiring on the inside of the car on the passenger side and fitted the climate control heater box.


Good to meet Poorboy aka Taff tonight who came and entertained me with more cake :tup:

Having driven lots of both I prefer the 5 speed box. And when they pack up I have a few spare 5 speeds to go at

Cheaper to replace and lighter in weight

Brian, what are you doing with those air scoop fog light blanks???? You going to repair it?

Wow. How did you manage that? Now you will have a second bumper as a spare.

Nice to see that the new one doesn't come with the side wheel arch plastic mounts.
Do you have to order them separately?

The engine is in



Poly snub mount fitted


Downpipe and air box fitted


And a few other ancillary parts added. Intercooler was test fitted but needs a modification as it's too close to the front pulley
