Yep as a general rule of thumb very little info out there re high reving engines as those that have built them have done so at the expense of many an engine tweaking the finer details. Same reason none of my answers include what I would deem to be specifics of dimensions and exact info as how to build it
Terry, i understand what you are saying now, your first post was just a bit cloudy were all here for the same thing.
Your experience...... what is your experience? Im not familiar with any of your cars thats all.
And thanks for Jonus`number
i didnt post this to be a c ock or to cause an argument, just supplier and your experiences people

Oh and i dont expect this to be an over night thing! My current engine will be used ad the dummy/mock up engine for the DTA managment, loom, manifolds, bodywork and chassis mods while the other engine is being produced from holy water, gypsey tears, unicorn sperm and dodo droppings

It should something like this when done maybe?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejcfS...hannel&list=UL
Hi revving is cool, do it!!
What do you plan transmission wise, standard ratios will be quite tall if running very high rpm if I'm thinking right.

So turbo engine can work at high rpm, but cost is high and reliability often takes a dive as rpm rises.....
0.58 1.09 1.19,1.29 seconds in are where the crucial noise is at......... propper porn sound and THE only reason i put a 5 pot in my A4, youtube videos made me fall in love with mental Audi I5`s, Martinsson, Jonus` 90, be-4-you.com RS2, its ALL their fault i bought £800 worth of 10v stuff in crates, and bought a 200TQ auto!
then i bought a URS4......... the rest is history lol
Revs are my single most amazing soundtrack with I5`s, not boost, or power, or torque........ all noise and i garuantee my car sounds like no other 5 Audi out there, very deep and boomy but thats what i wanted, noise! Now im hungry for more
my car, my money and instead of widebody, a house or holidays i have no interest in, im making myself happy by building my dream car
Transmission, well i run a very wide ratio`d DQY box and makes good use of the torque,
but im looking at big tooth straight cut gearsets, in RWD form i only have the rear diff to adjust ratios also,
this again is not massively important right now, but is on my "final fit" agenda,
i would like to use the car at ADI this year on track then once thats over, car is getting stripped and not on the road untill late next year with revised spec
no bodywork mods or huge changes other than engine so it straight forward

I'll try to find some posts but basically it was using the tall deck with a std deck crank and the appropriate (longer) rods for better rod ratio/higher RPM instead of longer stroke/more displacement.

That's in the 95.5 thread on motorgeek from years ago it started as a rod ratio debate

Not necessarily the best route unless going oval track racing.
