Also the forum upgrade will migrate all attachments currently on the filesystem into the database by the looks of it, so we should see if there's a way to get a forum S3 bucket and have attachments saved there behind the scenes.

S2 powered by S3... what can go wrong?
    Sorry andy

S3 bucket would make alot of sense. When do you want to make some time to get the upgrade done?

Did you get anywhere with the migration when you had your feet up at home?

As per usual here - crazy busy at all times until i fly to the US in August, and then out of the picture until September, at which point its contract renewal time... I might actually have something next weekend if you are available?

Weekend of 21st I'm about. I reckon if we crack on over that weekend we can get it done. I did try but didn't have access in and no static ip at home. Work has been quite intense since I've been back too.

Anyone knows what's the easiest way to D/L all 4,000 photos off the Photobucket?

If you go into your account albums, there is a 'download album' button.

I would recommend Imgur. Free to use and I believe you can set your pictures to private (so that you only can access the photo's through a link)

The negative that i find though is that you have click the link to view the picture, but it is better than nothing

Noooooo..... from their Terms of Service:

If someone else might own the copyright to it, don't upload it. Don't upload gore, "hate speech" (i.e. demeaning race, gender, age, religious or sexual orientation, etc.), or material that is threatening, harassing, defamatory, or that encourages violence or crime. Don't upload illegal content such as child porn or nonconsensual ("revenge") porn. Don't hotlink to adult content or to file-sharing, gambling, torrent, warez, or Imgur rip-off sites. Don't impersonate someone else. Also, don't use Imgur to host image libraries you link to from elsewhere, content for your website, advertising, avatars, or anything else that turns us into your content delivery network. If you do – and we will be the judge – or if you do anything illegal, in addition to any other legal rights we may have, we will ban you along with the site you're hotlinking from, delete all your images, report you to the authorities if necessary, and prevent you from viewing any images hosted on Imgur.com. We mean it.

I was unaware of that Bowie69. My bad. Just came to think I have seen reddit use Imgur as their go-to place for sharing pictures, but I guess those two websites have some sort of an agreement..

Oh and you weren't to know of course, I mean who reads those things

The plan will be to have all future images uploaded as attachments to the forum so that we can deal with the hosting and things wont get randomly blocked and deleted! We have some plans in place for the forum upgrade which will assist with this and make handling attachments much better and more user-friendly.

Photobucket are utter *******s aren't they. Rather everyone closing accounts shouldn't we all be signing up for new free accounts and filling them up with pointless images. Spamming them with the ransom demand image could work well.
