Quite right... As was pointed out by several of us on the Qforum the car is an ideal candidate for this, it's an icon of the era, it's rare and generally forgotton by the masses, but will be remembered and, (in the UK at least) is cheap enough to make it easy to buy and destroy without ******ing the production budget. People have talked of 3 cars for the show, it appears that this guys car has been the main car, but if there are three, be prepared for a bit of savagery...

That was a bit contraversial for me - LOL - Sorry ...
I'll be sure to stay clear of Wirral then - wherever that is
Let me explain -
Didn't mean to sound all heartless - but it is just a car after all, which is gonna be repairable (unless they utterly destroy one which would be bad bad voojoo). How does anybody *really* know their current car wasn't battered and abused before they got it - assuming none of the previous owners are production companies ?
Aside from the obvious answer of buying brand new but thats less and less likely at the premium end of the Audi range for most folk these days... (I digress).

You obviously haven't tried getting spares for the Ur or for that matter a type 85 Cq. Bodywork parts are like rocking horse Sh**1986 Coupe q - 2281cc 3B, chargecooler, 2.75" exh & downpipe, ported head, water injection, CGR box, modified MD357 turbo, 440cc injectors, high power coil.

it could be repaired but no repaired car is ever the same afterwards unfortunately. i cant tell from online pictures whether the car was repaired before but obviously with the talk of something restoration it and selling it to the production company. still though, it is just a car....but, its a bit of a classic and looks pretty nice. couldnt they just bash a useless ford taurus type car or something more common from what you blokes drive over there. they all need a stilleto blow to the head i think.
