Slightly off subject....and not specifically about my S2, but my Dad was enquiring about having his 20v Quattro serviced at a certain Audi MAIN DEALER somewhere in East Anglia (mentioning no names!). Whilst describing the car to the guy on the phone he was certain that not all quattros were 4wd...........!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honest
I had a similar one the other month when getting the scooby MOT'd and the guy looked at it and asked "Is it 4WD?"
I was once asked by a friend why I'd paid an extra 4 grand for my first scooby over a sport just for the word "turbo"

Just the general people asking me why i'm spending sooooooooo much on my car (and we're talking thousands here)
most comments are just by people who have been following me and just not kept up unless there was traffic around or people laughing at the amount of tyre smoke when i've launched it.
You can talk... I'm going to have to get you a t-shirt printed that reads
"Once I've had <BLANK> done the S2 wont need anything more doing to it!"
Notice how you've only posted negative comment about your car
Anyway, your posting that on the "S2 Forum"... its part and parcel of owning one!
One may even say that this economic crisis we are in is partly due to the fact that the s2 community has stopped buying so many upgrades for their cars
I got asked today why do I have a nice family car when I don't have a family?
Careful matey, he could have been put upto that by your other half The hints start off quietly enough but they end up as subtle as a punch in the face with things like..... I WANT A BABY NOW MISTER !!!
You have been warned - by a man with a wife who is now only 3 weeks away from producing Alien 2

I mostly found that kids in the nearby town would say "nice car" (probably a combination of rumbling from the exhaust and the RS2 bits and OZ alloys, nothing to do with understanding what it is).
It also had the twin upswept DTM outlet which doubtless attracted the average "maxer" ...that's not coming back when Kitty returns to the road but I don't know what reaction the side outlet will get!
A lot of people who saw it would ask "is it a V6?" which I didn't mind because it gave me an excuse to explain and/or show them under the bonnet. A former colleague at work also loved the "wastegate the size of Devon".
On the whole I found most people appreciated the appearance, and a few people were given a demonstration of the performance ...had a thumbs up from a biker when we drove (within the speed limit of course) across country. I remember one bloke at work had an RX8 and thought his car was the fastest thing ever, constantly sneered at my old bucket ...I never really did tell him that even a Prodrive RX8 would have struggled to beat even a stock S2.
The other colleague I referred to had an RX7 twin turbo and the RX8 owner thought it was the only "beast" in the carpark ...which in many respects was kind of satisfying.
Oh and by the way Andy - I messaged you the other day but never did mention that the "bint" you saw wasn't the lass I know!
