    The stealthy S2 strikes again...

This morning, a very annoying motorbike was in my mirror - carving up traffic and generally being a bit of a nob... We come up to a red light and he squeezes himself between me and a transit van at the line. I look over and its a big ish Honda of some sort - 500 or 600 I think. At the moment it hits amber I think, well if this cant wants to get past me - he's going to have to work for it...

There is two lanes of wide open dual carriageway ahead...

The light goes green, I open the tin and proceed to let out all of the beans - accompanied by the usual 5-cylinder symphony on maximum attack, the wailof the turbo and whine of the gearbox... The nose lifts and we are off.

In my left ear I can hear the snarling of the bike trying to keep up. Into 2nd with a fantastic gear shift (thank goodness for grace under pressure) and I figure the bike is gonna rip past me soon... I still hear it going into high revs - its obviously trying hard - but I still cannot see him. Woosh into 3rd and he's going backwards now - with the Ingolstadt sleeper more than able to pound into triple figures if I wished, but common sense prevails and I lift off the loud pedal with the point well made.

Cruising into the 40 zone and the bike casually passes me in traffic - he looked over - slightly curious no doubt of what the hell had just happened to him behind this anonymous looking old Audi. I smile and wave the international 'smoked' symbol... Then the adrenaline kicked in and fingers went a bit tingly. Bloody fantastic !

Gotta love this car even if it does drive me crazy some days.

Nice 1 paul, ive raced a few bikes in my s2, best was racing a r1 and a 600 of somesort , at the lights the r1 and 600 gaggin to get away , i launched at 5 grand changed to 2nd by that time passed the 600 about 2 car lengths from me to r1, now in 3rd 600 way behind but coudnt close the gap on the r1, only on the bends i could match him. Down to next lights the 600 rolls up and says " f4ck me mate whats in that" so a quick reply was its a diesel

Ahh, that'll be because of all the trim you've been taking out to sort that leak out

                  Nice one Paul

I love taking on bikes, if you can beat them to about 80, they usual bottle it going over a ton, and its game over!

                  Cheers,

                  Steve.

I don't do it often, but it is fun... Thing is I didn't even do an aggressive launch - just opened the taps when the light changed. No rain for a few days, so I must be in extra good mood for not having to mop out the car !

I wonder if the biker got into the office and typed Audi S2 into Google

Would be for me too if I could get this heap of an engine running right. Been 18months now and still barely keeping up with Celica GT's .

Owning a Bandit 600 I'm thinking it either wasn't a particularly big engined bike or you're running some special sauce..

I raced a biker in my Avant once and he was ahead but not getting away, and 100+ (on the track) I definitely had the advantage. And of course, I could go around corners where he had to slow down.

I dunno what it was - but it was a chunky enough large machine. Neither of us got a proper launch - maybe that would have been more fair... But all is not fair in love and war - I got the hop and he got smoked

If your not Rossi on a bike they all struggle no matter what size. no matter the weather, In my life i have only ever seen two people out of well over 100 get a 0-60 time that is claimed in the hand books.
