    glad things are looking up.

obviously a good garage owner who i expect is regretting employing such a chimp.

cant see that kid getting a job soon in the industry. i expect he is quite famous in that neck of the woods. he may make celeb big brother next year.

best of luck finding another whatever. these things can leave a dirty taste in the mouth. sometimes we dont want another we want that one. had this with my corrado. purchase is like courtship to an extent.

Best of luck finding a replacement car that fits the bill.

Glad to hear the garage owner is a "good guy".

      Cheers,

      Steve.

Sounds like the garage owner is stepping up doing the right thing, of course it makes sense for the business as well as it will minimise and damage to their reputation. Good to hear that the scrote responsible is getting charged, hope they throw the whole damn library at him!

I would be MORE than happy with his offer!
A replacement of your choice, and the idiot has lost his job.
Yes, of course you would prefer to have your own car back, but there are plenty of others out there that are just as good..... or better!
You could also ask for yours back so you can break it and get some more cash back?

Or fix your car with the blank check. I'd seriously check it into MRC or GT500 for repair and get some mods on it as well.

It really does depend, i've had a car in the past repaired due to damage not off my own and once repaired I actually appreciated the car more.

It's more a mental stigma if the repair is top notch

Sometimes better the devil you know, unless you go for a higher spec car

I think that sounds like a very fair offer, no pisin about with insurance company's ect. I'd take the owner up on it and be happy in knowledge that the knob that crashed your car has lost his job and is being prosecuted.

A lot of respect to them for that, I think the motoring trade gets a lot of undue stick for being crooked, there are a few out there, known and unknown. I don't think you could have had a better response from the garage owner to be honest. We all want to deal with good people, and sounds like you've got one there. If insurance was involved I would almost guarantee this would be a much bigger nightmare!

However on the slight plus (negative) side you get to go shopping all over again and shopping (with money) for boys toys really is fun. I know it might be a bit painful, but got any picture of the old girl before, got a bit of a soft spot for them

personally id find it hard to replace with another. the constant comparison would do my head in unless you find a far superior car whichy sounds like impossability.

id be looking for a differnet car. even if its just to have for 12 months whilst the wounds heal.

The recent news is a silver lining to this whole situation. I feel for the loss of your car. This could have so easily turned into a legal battle. But i think it is a testament to your good will, patience and honesty and also the garage owners.
With any luck you will find a different car that you like (the RS4 will be difficult to replace without constant comparison) And hopefully you will get your old car back also, that should still have some value in parts?

How much do you think your RS4 was worth, out of interest?
