Valet Parking ,Don't Let Them Do It !!!

Took mum out for a nice ride to covent garden market, thought i wouldn;t risk a parking ticket best to park in a secure car park.

Yes sir leave your keys with us we will park it for you, company policy.

Came back two hours later to smashed in rear end and damaged front, NICE.

Call the cops, private car park sir no one hurt not really our problem.

We have a name and number of the woman who hit your car sir (thick Nigerian accent)

Starting to think if I am on face jacker at this point, if it wasn't so rediculous I would have kicked right off but that gets you nowhere.

Call the woman she comes back with a story about her car rolling into another which hit mine and pushed mine forward into the one in front, AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGG.
The plot thickens, watch this space.

Fingers crossed for an insurance repair job.

Look's like the bootchanger is crushed too.

Definately deformed the boot floor by about 3".

Is your insurance an agread value policy ? If not I would myself be tempted to not go down the insurance root as it may well end in a cat c write off.hopefully I am totally wrong but be prepared for the worst
never set your expectations to high that way you are never disapointed

really bad luck for you, I hope you get this sorted. I have a question...

If it is company policy for them to take your keys and park your car for you. Would the same policy not apply to this other driver who would have handed over her keys?

In my book you handed over your car (and responsibility for it to somebody); therefore they surely are the responsible party. Chase the company that you paid to mind your car? I'd go back there with a notebook and find out who's in charge of the carpark.

Maybe one of the insurance brokers on the forum could comment on this situation?

Sorry I would have gone to a different car park, I would never leave my car with a valet parking!

That is bad luck though, take them to the cleaners

Got a company called Wonway UK dealing with it for me, and I will be taking someone to the cleaners. I reckon there is a lot more to it than first expected. The damage just doesn't add up but if the woman is willing to accept liability that'll do for me, makes things much easier and quicker. Thanks for your replies.

Any damage should be covered by the Valet parking insurance while it was in their custody and control surely???
If they had the keys, then technically they had control of the vehicle...

Good luck with it, I hope you wipe the floor with them.

                  Paul.

Oh dear, the womans insurance run out in March. FANTASTIC. Thank god Wonway UK are willing to take the case on at the risk to them of not getting a result. Absolute diamonds, highly recommend you all to use them if you have any probs with accidents that aren't your fault. Called me up today, collected my car dropped of a replacement for me to use, told me not to worry they will follow up with the garage and the woman who forgot to set up her direct debit so insurance company ceased her policy. Dosy bitch. Watch this space, fingers and legs crossed now.

Surely the valet parking company need their own insurance for this?
